ABOUT
Set in a large garden with sweeping farm and mountain views, Cashmere Hills B&B is in a private location so close to the city. The house is a 1920's-style character house which was rebuilt in 2015 after the 2011 earthquake. The underfloor-heating in the bathrooms, double glazed windows and central heating system make your stay most comfortable while still preserving much of the atmosphere of a 1920s villa with high ceilings, leadlights and character light shades.
We serve a full breakfast with eggs and bacon followed by home made granola and seasonal fruit.
There is a big comfortable guest lounge, a tea-making kitchenette and a separate entrance.
Enjoying soaking in our cedar outdoor-bath under the stars is "the must experience".
We have free on-site parking.

OUR SERVICES
Garden
The house boasts a large (by suburban standards), shady, woodland garden with a mix of native trees complemented by some exotic trees, rhododendrons, hosta, bluebell and ivy. There are a range of orchard trees as well to supply the house which are shared with guests including apples, pears, plums, peaches, apricots, feijoas and quinces. Please enjoy the quiet paths and native birds (including bellbirds, fantails, tuis and kereru). We neighbour onto a farm which sometimes has sheep.
Breakfast
As the owner is an experienced barista and cafe chef, you can enjoy cooked breakfast with our homegrown organic fruit as well as local products.
Guest lounge
Each room has a lounge. Enjoy the comforts of a private lounge equipped with a TV, fridge and microwave, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing stay.
Wifi & Netflix
Of course we have free Wifi and also a smart TV in each room. You can enjoy Netflix and You tube on the TVs.
Complimentary water
We offer a free bottle of water to each guest. Black tea, coffee and herb tea are also in the lounge drawer.
Hot tub
We have a cedar bath in the garden and fill it with fresh hot water every evening. The cedar smell will relax your senses as the water relaxes your body.
Activity support
We can help our guests to enjoy some activities, like tennis, river fishing and surfing. If you are interested in, please inquire when you book.

Walking
Many popular walking tracks are on Cashmere Hills. Nearby attractions include the Sign of the Takahe, the Sign of the Kiwi, Victoria Park and the Christchurch Adventure Park.
Downtown Christchurch
A bus runs to the city centre from outside the gate. From there you can easily access the Arts Centre, Botanic Gardens or downtown shops, cafes and restaurants.
Art
Christchurch is an artist town and there are many wonderful artists around. One of our artist friends, Mariko Susu has stayed with us regularly and completed many works inspired by NZ light and air, and had many exhibitions not only in Christchurch but also in Auckland and Tokyo. Many of the paintings on our walls are hers.
